Parents evenings
Thank you to the parents and carers who attended our parents evenings this week or who have slots booked to ensure they meet with staff next week. We pride ourselves on working together with families to ensure we support pupils to achieve their full potential. 99.4% of our pupils were/or are to be represented at parents evenings this half term. An excellent effort by our whole school community, thank you.
Staff award recognition
Our trust held an awards recognition ceremony this year at our annual conference held at the beginning of November. I am delighted to share with you that five of our staff were nominated for awards for their commitment, passion and the sense of belonging that they create for our young people.
Huge congratulations to Mrs Gregory, Mrs MacCallum, Mrs Chaplin, Miss Manton and Mrs Mason. We are very proud of you all!
Uniform reminders
A polite reminder that school uniform should be worn in school daily as per our policy and procedures. Leggings are not part of school uniform and should not be worn. School shoes should be worn, not trainers or boots. Thank you for your cooperation with this and respect for our school procedures.

Remembrance in school
To mark Remembrance Day this year Mrs Lyall led a whole school assembly to teach us about the importance of honouring those who have gone before us, those who risked or sacrificed their lives to give us our future. We watched the video below to reminded ourselves about the special meaning of the day. At 11am we came together in the school hall and respectfully help our 2 minutes silence. We are so proud of our children who were able to show respect and admiration to those who have served and continue to serve.
Remembrance Day – BBC Teach
Our Reception pupils made our wreath, which we took to the cenotaph on Monday afternoon after a lovely autumnal walk through Hodnet Hall Gardens. Well done to our class R pupils for their inquisitiveness and their ability to showcase their knowledge.
Winter weather ready
A polite reminder that pupils need coats and items to keep them warm during playtimes and lunchtimes as we always aim to be outside as much as is possible, even in the showery winter months. Please can parents/carers ensure that all items are named. Thank you.
Bonfire night spectacular!
Thank you to our amazing group of volunteers who enabled our Bonfire Night community event to go ahead with great success this year. We are so thankful for all the hard work you all put into this event, from the planning to the day of building – it was superb! We have received countless positive comments about this event from families and the local community.
Thank you also to Jack Flash who once again provided the spectacular fireworks show.
