Holidays in Term Time

Headteachers can only authorise any leave of absence when an application has been made in advance and it is felt to be for an exceptional circumstance; the annual family holiday would not be deemed an exceptional circumstance.
Permission needs to be sought from the Headteacher for all holidays taken during term time.  Application for leave of absence should be made to the school, prior to the holiday, giving the dates of departure and return.

If parents take a child away from school for a holiday without the prior agreement of the school, the absence will be an unauthorised absence. This will be reported to the Educational Welfare Officer who will contact parents.
