We have a small team of volunteers who are exceptionally generous with their time to support school and ensure that our children have lasting memories of their time at Hodnet. We always welcome new members – all parents are welcome to support.
Hodnet PTA is made up of parents, teachers, school staff, and friends of Hodnet School. We meet at least once a term, with additional meetings to plan a particular event when needed. Our meetings are usually held I school for an afternoon meeting or externally for an evening meeting, usually at the Hodnet Social Club.
We are always actively fundraising with the aim to provide all the children with increased learning opportunities and to have fun! This is achieved by donating towards various school trips, including educational visits and pantomimes; special events like music workshops and festive treats at Christmas; and the building of the outdoor classroom and running track.
We hold an annual Bonfire and Firework evening, which is always well supported by the school and further Hodnet community. Held throughout the year, we’ve also held treasure hunts around the village, hosted school discos and raffles, and even had visits from a travelling circus company with their big top on the school field.
During the Christmas period, we set up a Santa Shop for the children to buy gifts for their family and friends at pocket money prices. These are then wrapped and labelled, ready to go under the Christmas tree.
Additionally, during the summer we hold our very popular Freezy Fridays, at which we sell ice-creams from the playground as an end of the week summer treat.
Everyone is welcome to join us at a meeting or offer help in other ways. Follow us on Facebook @HodnetSchoolPTA or see school newsletters for information.
