Online Safety

This week Miss Darmanin led our half termly safety assembly with a focus on Online Safety. Children were reminded of the SMART safety rules and they discussed each element. A huge well done to everyone, Miss Darmanin was very impressed with how knowledgeable the children are. They were all reminded to share the SMART safety rules at home and to always make sure grown ups are aware of their online activity.

School Experiences

As a Trust and as individual schools, we are hoping to put together some information about the 10 top experiences we hope children to encounter before they leave school. For example, sitting around a camp fire, performing to an audience, going to the theatre or art gallery, learning a musical instrument, visiting a contrasting location, taking a risk etc. The list is endless, but we aim to pin point the experiences to phases in education and would like families and children to participate in this.

I’ve attached a short survey below (only 3 questions!) and would really welcome your feedback about what quality experiences you would hope that your child could encounter before they leave school. These experiences are additional to our curriculum offer, but run alongside it. For example we believe it is important to take our children our of our rural location to experience a big city so we take our Y5&6 pupils to London, that links to their learning about monarchy in addition to fulfilling many memorable experiences.

Thank you in advance for your contribution.

Fidget toys

A polite reminder to check with school staff before sending in any fidget toys. We have school approved fidget manipulatives for pupils to use should they be needed in class or around school. We also work with the school nursing team to provide support in this area. Children may need to use a manipulative to aid their concentration for a short period of time, or to support with a particular sensory need or anxiety. It is important that school staff are aware of such needs so that we can support pupils with effective strategies to overcome any barriers at particular times.

Please see Mrs Williams our SEND lead or Miss Darmanin our Mental Health lead, but always discuss with your child’s class teacher in the first instance to ensure we can work together to best support pupils.

Thank you.

Children in Need final total

Thank you to everyone who contributed and enjoyed coming in non-uniform or Pudsey Bear themed clothes last Friday. We have raised £353.50 for this charity.
