World Book Day Thursday 6th March

A reminder, WBD is on Thursday 6th March this year. Children are welcome to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or in a book related themed costume of their choice. The theme this year is ‘Read Your Way’ to focus on the enjoyment of reading following research that too many children just see reading as a school task. We have some exciting events planned for the day and will keep you posted with photos, clips and displays around school.

A reminder that each class will host a book swap so every child goes home with a new book, please remember to bring in a book to swap.

Please see your child’s class teacher or Mrs Bessant, our English and Early Reading leader, if you have any questions.

Norovirus, gastroenteritis and other related illnesses.

We have been informed by the LA and Public Health England that we must be vigilant towards possible symptoms of norovirus or other related illness due to the widespread outbreak affecting hospitals and other public services. We have been asked to report incidents of norovirus to the Public Health team, so please inform us if your child receives a diagnosis of this.

If your child is unwell with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach cramps or similar you must continue to follow the usual guidance of keeping them off school for 48 hours after the last bout of illness. In order to prevent further spread, children must not be in school until they are symptom free.

Thank you for your continued support with this matter.

Class 4 homework projects

A huge well done to the children in Y4 and their families who have supported them with this extended homework task.  I had the pleasure of watching some of the presentations and finding out about how they had done their research and delivered their findings. Well done class 4, you should all feel very proud of your effort and achievements.
