World Book Day Thursday 5th March

A reminder, WBD is on Thursday 5th March this year. We will be supporting this on Friday 6th March. Children are welcome to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or in a book related themed costume of their choice(this is optional). The theme this year is “Go All In” — encouraging,, immersive, and passionate reading. The focus is to support the National Year of Reading 2026 to drive up enjoyment and foster a reading culture.

We have some exciting events planned for the day and will keep you posted with photos, clips and displays around school.

Hodnet Scouts Need You!

Use your skills to help young people gain theirs.

One of our long-standing and brilliant Scout Leaders is looking to step down at the end of Summer Term this year. This section covers ages 10½ to 14 years. If you are an outdoor person and wants to give something back to the local community (and the future generation), please get in touch. The Scout section is reliant on us finding at least 2 more leaders to help support its continued operation and future growth. We are so pleased that so many young children are joining 2nd Hodnet Scout Group, but need your help to keep providing fantastic educational and outdoor experiences to our young children.

             Please contact join@2ndhodnetscoutgroup.org.uk
