Welcome Class R 2024

The Class R staff welcomed new children this week. We had been busy in the holidays creating an exciting new layout. We especially like our new construction area! The children have settled in brilliantly and have enjoyed taking part in lots of new activities such as gardening and PE.

Thanks to the generosity of the PTA, Class R used the new Bee Bot programmable robots to support their maths learning.

Visit to the church

We visited Hodnet church and looked for the things that showed us it was a special building. We were especially impressed with the stained glass windows.

Summer solstice party

We had a wonderful summer solstice party with pre school. The fairies left us challenges to make a leaf necklace, a hazel crown, music for the party we had a fire and toasted marshmallows. We had a great time!

Who was the culprit?

Today Mandy from the kitchen asked us to help her with a problem! Something had been munching some food from the kitchen, it had eaten through 1 strawberry, 2 radish, 3 tomatoes, 4 slices of cucumber, 5 biscuits, 6 pieces of chocolate and 7 green grapes! We went on a hunt to find the culprit, following the foot prints outside. We then drew pictures of the “suspects” we had found.

A Day in Shrewsbury

We have had a wonderful day today (Monday 10th June 2024) in Shrewsbury. This morning we spent the day at the Museum with Mrs Akers, exploring the world of Peter Rabbit. The experience was fantastic, we explored old photos reinforcing our understanding of the past, we played games, sang songs, played the claves, got creative making gardens and generally had a great time at the Peter Rabbit exhibition.

We were lucky enough to have our picnic in the Quarry Park and explore the Dingle garden. We explored the garden, trying to find where we were on an ariel photo of the garden and spent a lot of time looking at the ponds, we liked watching the ducks and the fish. We admired the new sculpture in the Quarry and talked about what we thought it was made from.
