n is for numicon, necklaces and nails

We learnt the phoneme n and enjoyed a morning snack of numicon toast. We had to subitise the amount on our numicon toast and then learnt to spread on our own butter and or jam.

i is for insects and instruments

We learnt the phoneme i and explored insects and instruments!

G is for gardening

We prepared the garden for the Spring! We worked as a team to plant wild flower seeds which will hopefully turn the space in our orchard into a wild flower meadow in the Spring and Summer next year. The children looked at the different seeds and compared them before planting them.

M is for Moon cake

We read a story called “Round as a Moon cake” and learnt a little bit about the Chinese Moon festival celebrated at this time of year. We made our own version of moon cakes by crushing malted milk biscuits and mixing them with cream cheese, we then used the moon cake mould to make pretty moon cakes!

Learning the phoneme o

We learnt the phoneme o and squeezed oranges, made obstacle courses and played at being opticians.

A is for Apple

We learnt the phoneme a and picked apples from the garden. We cut them up and made them into apple crisps which we yummy!

C is for calf

In Class R today a calf came to visit. We were learning about the letter sound ‘c’ and all about baby animals.

Welcome Class R 2024

The Class R staff welcomed new children this week. We had been busy in the holidays creating an exciting new layout. We especially like our new construction area! The children have settled in brilliantly and have enjoyed taking part in lots of new activities such as gardening and PE.
