Half term school ground improvements
Over the half term some safety improvements are being made to the front of school with new metal safety gates being installed at the entrances to the road and the path to the WMC. These gates will have self closing mechanisms and should remain closed at all times when not in use. Please be vigilant when using them as they will likely be heavy, younger children may require assistance to open them and should be assisted by an adult at all times. This is phase one of our external safety updates.
Work to improve the grounds next to the reception classroom outdoor area will commence in half term, with some work starting this week in the pre-school garden and a skip being used on site – please be careful when entering site near the skip.
The large container on the wooded area outside reception will also be removed from site over half term and the ground will gradually be repurposed. The area will be fenced off and is due to be transformed into an EYFS woodland outdoor area. An exciting new project which will take off as the weather improves!
Respect weekly awards
Having manners and showing respect are a staple healthy part of growing up to become good citizens in our society. We aim to showcase manners and have a culture of respect in school. That said, improvements can always be made, so we are focussing on highlighting positive rewards for respectful behaviour towards other in school. We introduced this to our pupils in assembly this week, where we created a word cloud together with the things we want to see in school to showcase our culture of respect.

Starting this week, each class will select a pupil to be their respect champion. They will receive a certificate in our Friday celebration assembly and their name will go into the draw for with the chance to be awarded the termly Respect Trophy in church.
