We had a great morning celebrating May Day in Forest Schools (we learnt about some of the rituals and traditions of Beltaine celebrations). We lit a fire (we learnt that this was one of the traditions) and toasted marshmallows, we decorated a May tree and danced around it, we made a May Day feast in the mud kitchen, we made May Day music. We also looked at some willow cuttings that had rooted in water, some herb cuttings and some sweet pea seeds that had shot and rooted.
