Hodnet Scouts Need You!

Use your skills to help young people gain theirs.

One of our long-standing and brilliant Scout Leaders is looking to step down at the end of Summer Term this year. This section covers ages 10½ to 14 years. If you are an outdoor person and wants to give something back to the local community (and the future generation), please get in touch. The Scout section is reliant on us finding at least 2 more leaders to help support its continued operation and future growth. We are so pleased that so many young children are joining 2nd Hodnet Scout Group, but need your help to keep providing fantastic educational and outdoor experiences to our young children.

             Please contact join@2ndhodnetscoutgroup.org.uk

Children’s Mental Health Week 2026

The official theme for Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 is

‘This is My Place’

This years focus on children’s mental health week is belonging.

We know that our sense of belonging as individuals, in our friendships, in school, and in communities plays a vital role in our mental health and wellbeing.

To know our place and really feel part of our environment is a basic human need. It can have powerful and long-lasting impacts in lots of areas of our lives, including our physical and mental health, education and relationships. When we feel that we belong, it empowers us to contribute to the world and make a real difference

Classes have been busy exploring the importance of belonging through various activities,

Miss Darmanin led a KS2 assembly based on belonging during which the children discussed what belonging at Hodnet Primary school:

Community, Family, Team, Trust, support, Friends and Kindness
