Huge congratulations to the Y6 pupils who completed their Level 2 Bikeability award this week. The staff from the ‘Learn Cycling’ team were delighted with our children, saying that they were a joy to be with and have made the experience a very happy and productive one. Lovely comments for our pupils. Well done Team 6 we are very proud of you.

Children will receive a certificate of completion and a badge.

Guinea Pig research continues

Our Owl team House and Vice captains took a trip to Lower Heath school this week to find out what happens with their Guinea pigs. It gave us some food for thought and we are thankful to the team for letting us ask our questions, hold their lovely pets and for giving up their time. Next we plan to raise some funds for the equipment that we need. We are also going to write our policy and set out our agreements for safe handling and our care promises to ensure the welfare of the animals.

If anyone has any equipment or knows of anytime who could help us with this new venture, please contact school.

North Shropshire Christmas Card competition

Please see the information above. If you would like to enter this competition, please can children send in their design by Tuesday 6th November (the first day back after half term). We will ensure they get to Helen Morgan for Friday 8th. Please ask your child’s class teacher if you would like any paper to complete this at home.

Food Bank Harvest donation

The food bank volunteers send their grateful thanks for all the donations today. Thank you to everyone who donated gifts of food for our Harvest festival. We know these donations will be used locally to support those in need.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit this morning, the staff kindly showed us around, showing the children how they process the donations using their ticketing colour coded system and showing us the store rooms. We took in our donations and helped to process them, something we haven’t done before, it was great fun.

Nativity change of date

Due to the panto, the EY and KS1 Nativity dates have returned to the original dates of

  • Monday 16th December 2pm
  • Tuesday 17th December 2pm

Parent Pay debt

Please can families check their Parent Pay account as we have a large number of families with mounting debt and some with historical payment debt. Some amount are only small, but is collectively large as a whole school total. Our school has grown considerably in the last few years, now having 190 children, so a little bit from a lots of people soon adds up! Any outstanding payments will be red, showing a negative balance.

Please support school by ensuring that debts are cleared and that balances remain healthy.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Dogs

A reminder that dogs are not permitted on school site. Please respect the safety rules and refrain from bringing dogs onto the school site including our playground at drop off or pick up times.

This includes dogs in arms.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Christmas Panto

We have provisionally booked our Christmas Panto for Wednesday 18th December.

Details:

  • Goldilocks and the Three Bears
  • Oakengates Theatre – currently operating in Telford International Centre due to refurbishment at Oakengates.
  • 1.30pm performance with an 4pm expected finish.
  • Interval treat to be provided by school.

We are awaiting transport confirmation, once confirmed the information about this event will be on Parent Pay for parents to consent and pay for. This is a Christmas treat for our children, it is not an educational visit, therefore full payment is required for children to attend. We will ensure that this event is subsidised by school and our PTA. More information about costing to follow.

Our aim for panto’s is that we alternate between a visiting panto to school and an actual theatre visit every other year. Last year the panto came to us, so this we we plan to take the children to the theatre for the full experience.

Details to follow shortly.
