Walking in to school

After the Easter holidays, please can Reception children walk down to their class at the start of the day instead of lining up. This is in preparation for moving up into KS1 and taking ownership of their belongings.

Please can parents and family members support and encourage them to do this by saying goodbye at the green gates, ensuring that they are carrying their own belongings and encouraging them to walk down to the gate where they will be met by Mrs Noden and the team.

This also applies for any children in KS1, please can parents and family members encourage the children to have greater independence by walking to their classroom on their own and carrying their own bags and equipment. Thank you for your cooperation.

Mother’s Day lunch

Thank you to our amazing kitchen team who cooked for 368 people on Wednesday lunchtime! Wow! It was a joyful occasion with lots of positive feedback for staff, delicious food and even the chance to play outside in the sunshine!

We know it was appreciated by many and we thank you for supporting school through this event.

Irish dancing success

We have an Irish dancing beginner 2nd place world champion in our school! Wow! What an achievement! We celebrated her success in our assembly today and wanted to share her success with our school community so we can show her how proud we are of her. The multiple medals are from different elements of the competition in Dublin. She placed second in the Beginner level Worlds Championship, so moved up to Primary level. She also placed 4th in Four Hand Ceili and 5th in all four Solos.

We know of many children who celebrate success in dancing or gymnastics or other sporting areas, with others achieving goals in national and local championships and some who are aiming for future success at national dance schools. We celebrate children’s achievements in our weekly celebration assembly on Fridays, please send in achievements so we can share and congratulate in our school family.

Sporting competitions

Well done to our Y6 netball team who played in the county finals this week. They tried their best and were a credit to themselves and our school, they didn’t place, but they gave it their best shot and should feel proud of themselves.

A special mention again to Arthur C who came away with a teamwork medal for encouraging others, nominated by the watching staff.

Next week we have Tag Rugby finals.

Amazing Aladdin!

Huge well done to our class 3, 4 and 5 children who were simply outstanding in their panto production this week. Their singing, acting, humour and teamwork was exceptional – well done everyone, we are so proud of you! You all remembered your lines adn delivered them clearly and confidently and you sang the many songs beautifully. A shout out to the many soloists who bravely sang their parts with confidence and clarity.

A massive thank you to our staff who enabled this production, making props, organising the logistics, teaching the staging and acting – a huge task, but very well done. Each class presented one scene, with class 4 going first, class 3 in the middle and class 5 at the end. Each class had a full list of parts to fill and all classes learned the songs.

Thank you to all the parents and family members who came to watch, and helped their children with costumes and learning lines at home – your support is greatly appreciated.
