Welcome!
A warm welcome back to school! We hope everyone had a lovely summer holiday and is ready for the excitement of the new term.
To our Nursery, Reception and other year group new starters, we hope you and your child have thoroughly enjoyed the first week and on behalf of all the team, we wish you a very warm welcome to our school community. The children have settled in so well, we are very proud of them. What a great start!
Messages from the school office
Some polite messages and reminders from our office:
- Arbor is now our communication and payment system. Please ensure you have activated your account. The easiest way to use Arbor is via the App. Please see the office staff or Mrs Lyall for support if required.
- Payments for school meals for classes 3-6 should be made using the top up account feature on Arbor. Please ensure there is sufficient funds in place to prevent the build up of debt.
- Bookings for clubs such as wraparound forest schools can also be made via Arbor. A top tip with this for Breakfast club and Wraparound is to ensure that funds are topped up first, the booking will not complete without funds and you can’t pay at the end, so always top up first to avoid frustration.
- Please use the pedestrian gates to enter school site. We ask that families do not cross the car park when entering school to ensure safety on our site. Also the entrance from the car park is electronically controlled and access is required from our admin team, which may not always be available, so we ask you kindly to use the alternative gates, thank you.
- Please aim to be punctual at drop off and pick up times. School starts at 8.45am, children who arrive after this point will be marked at late, affecting their attendance. Just 5 minutes adds up over time and contributes to lost learning and missed opportunities. Children who arrive after 8.45am will need to enter school via the office and a reason for lateness provided. Thank you for your support with this. The end of our school day is 3.15pm, any parents/carers arriving after this time should contact the office and children will then be collected from the office area. Nursery starts at 8.50am and ends at 3.10pm.

Important reminders
Earrings:
- Only studs please.
- They must be removed for PE.
- If newly pierced and therefore unable to be removed, children are unable to participate in some PE sessions due to the possibility of contact such as Tag Rugby and Netball un KS2. Please see your child’s class teacher if you are unsure. Tape is not ideal due to the infection risk, but could be used for short sessions, tape must not be on all day.
Water bottles:
- Named water bottles need to be in school daily.
- Only water please, juice is not permitted.
Uniform:
- Please ensure uniform is named.
- Correct uniform is expected to be worn by all children as per our policy, thank you for your cooperation.

DEAR
As communicated this week, we are making changes to DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) this year. Please look out for information about further changes. The changes already implemented today enabled a swift entry to school to enjoy the reading session together. Thank you for your cooperation.
