Diary Dates

There is a slight IT issue with our published diary dates on the website, with some not being on view beyond the 8th July. I have reported this to the IT team who are looking into it. Please see a list of upcoming diary dates below.

  • 1st & 2nd July – Y6 move up days to Thomas Adams
  • 1st, 2nd & 3rd July – Y6 move up days to SJT
  • 2nd July Move up morning for all pupils in Hodnet
  • 3rd July – 9am Class R assembly, Class R parents welcome to attend
  • 5th July – Rock Steady Concert, parents of pupils in Rock Steady welcome to attend
  • 6th July – Hodnet Village Treasure Trail 10am-3pm
  • 8th & 9th July – Y6 move up days to Grove school
  • 9th July – Y6 SATS result published
  • 11th July – Church service at St Luke’s, Hodnet 2pm.
  • 12th July – End of year reports out to parents
  • 15th July – Y5 trip to Bishops Wood
  • 15th July – Y6 retreat day at St Peters Church
  • 15th July – Y6 rounders team final after school.
  • 15th – 19th July – work experience students in school
  • 16th July – Y5 secondary experience day at Grove school
  • 17th July – Y6 performance 6pm
  • 18th July – Y6 trip to WMSP
  • 19th July – Y6 leavers assembly 9am, Y6 parents welcome
  • 19th July – Break up for the summer holidays.

Dates for the new academic year:

  • Monday 2nd September – PD day, school closed to pupils
  • Tuesday 3rd September – New school term starts for academic year 24/25.

Rounders Winners!

The Class Six rounders team competed in the initial round of a local primary schools competition.

We are very proud of their outstanding sportsmanship, positive attitude and great teamwork!
To top it off, they also won all of their matches and are through to the final!

Well done Team Hodnet!

Village Treasure Trail

A reminder that our PTA will be holding a Village Treasure Trail on Saturday 6th July, 10am-3pm. It is £5 per family to enter, all funds raised will go towards equipment or experiences for our children in school. All children will receive a prize for taking part and refreshments are available.

Celebrating Success. Certificate of Achievement 28.6.24

Well done to everyone who received awards or shout outs today. We are very proud of you.

  • Class R – Albie, for his enthusiasm about the topic of bugs and for his fantastic writing.
  • Class 1 – Georgie, for a fantastic start at Hodnet school
  • Class 2 – All of class 2 for their outstanding behaviour and attitude at Chester Zoo.
  • Class 3 – Georgina, for always being keen to join in with the learning and contributing well in class.
  • Class 4 – Charlie, for always working hard and giving his best.
  • Class 5 – Bria, for being an excellent role model for learning, always working hard and wanting to do her best.
  • Class 6 – Poppy, for kindness to others during the play and supporting younger pupils in football.
  • Headteacher’s KS1 award – Class 2 for super behaviour and heat endurance at Chester Zoo!
  • Headteacher’s KS2 award – The rounders team for amazing sportsmanship and winning their round.
  • Raffle ticket – Finn in class 6.
  • Lunchtime award – James in class 1 for having lovely manners.

September class information

Please see the attached letter for information about the classes for September 2024.

The children will have the opportunity to move up to their new class on Tuesday morning next week. They need to go to their current class as normal for registration. Class R will go to the hall for registration before going to class 1.

Early Help drop in changes

The Early Help team are available to provide free information, advice and support at the new time of Tuesday’s at 9.30-12.30 weekly.  They are based at Raven House in Market Drayton.

Chester Zoo!

Class 2 had a fantastic time at Chester Zoo. Despite the very warm weather, we soldiered on and really enjoyed seeing all of the incredible animals!
