Well done to everyone who received awards or shout outs today. We are very proud of you.

Class R – Casey for sharing stories with his class friends. Well done Casey we are very proud of you.
Class 1 – Fraser for much improved effort in independent writing, well done!
Class 2 – Rupert for being a great role model in class, making great contributions and making a huge effort to improve his handwriting. Well done!
Class 3 – Arthur C for being a great learning influencer! Also increased effort in his writing to make it even more superb!
Class 4 – Leah for increased effort with her learning, well done!
Class 5 – Freddie, for a much improved attitude towards learning and contributing more in class.
Class 6 – Ollie M for his super attitude and diligent approach to learning. Well done, keep it up.
EY/KS1 Headteacher’s award – Phoebe in class 2 for her creative artwork representing Badgers House team in our lobby area – we finally have the full set! Thank you Phoebe.
KS2 Headteacher’s award – Bria in class 6 for being responsible and sensible and a kind friend to our younger pupils. Helping them to make the right choices and make good relationships.
Lunchtime award – Lucas in class 5 for showcasing great lunchtime manners.

Well done to everyone who received awards or shoutouts this week, we are very proud of you.

Today we celebrated reading in our celebration assembly, with praise for lots of children for their reading at home and reading throughout the curriculum in school.

Change of uniform supplier

As from today (7.5.25) we have moved our uniform supplier from Stitchdesign to Mapac. Mapac used to provide the garments to Stitchdesign, so we are aiming to offer a more streamlined sustainable service by using the direct supplier.

Any outstanding orders will be fulfilled by Mapac in conjunction with Stitchdesign, please can all new orders be placed through Mapac using the link below.

Rock Steady concert

Well done to our Rock Steady Rock Stars who performed for school and their families this week. Playing with enthusiasm and confidence, a joy to see. A great start to our summer term!

Be prepared for the summer sun

Please can parents/carers ensure that children are fully equipped for their school day in the summer. Children need:

A sun hat.
A full water bottle containing only water – no juice please.
Sun cream already applied before school – staff cannot apply this throughout the day. Children can bring a roll on provided they can do this themselves, however this is not ideal as it can get messy! It also takes up their valuable playing time, so before school is more preferable.
Trainers in school for the mile run.

Headlice in school

We have been informed that a pupil is being treated for headlice in class 4. Please be vigilant and check your children’s hair regularly. Children can remain in school as normal, but we kindly ask that the headlice are treated to try to prevent the spread. Where possible, hair should ideally be tied up for school anyway, again this helps to prevent the spread in addition to helping children to focus without distractions in their face.

Father’s Day Lunch

On Friday 20th June we will be hosting our Father’s day lunch. This is the same day as sports day, we have chosen this date with duplicate events based on feedback from previous years when families found it tricky to get time off work for multiple events in quick succession.

St Luke’s church family weekend and competition

THIS IS OUR FAMILY

St Luke’s Church, Hodnet – Family Weekend

14th and 15th June, 10am-4pm

We invite all the children in the parish to create something which reflects an important person or people in their lives, whether it be family, friend, or pet. This could be a painting, drawing, piece of craft, flower decoration, a poem – whatever springs to mind when thinking of that special relationship.

Closing date for entries is Friday 6th June when they will be picked up from Hodnet School. Your entry needs to have your full name and age on the back of it or on an accompanying note. Alternatively you can bring your entry to St Luke’s Church on Saturday 7th June between 10am and 12 noon.

Every entrant will receive a special certificate. There will be a prize for the three best entries: ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12.

All entries will be displayed in St Luke’s over the weekend of 14th and 15th June for everyone to see. The church will be decorated with flowers and the historical records will be available for children to see if their parents or grandparents were christened, married, or buried at St Luke’s.

If you have a small photo of a local wedding or baptism, bring a copy to hang on our ‘family tree’.

Church tower tours will be run from 10am – 12 noon (adults only).

A special ‘Songs of Praise’ is to be held on Sunday 11am-12 noon reflecting on ‘Our Church Family’ and there will be a chance to vote for your favourite hymn to be included in the service.
