London Adventures

A snapshot of our London Adventures. A memory making day steeped in British History and showcasing our capital city. Some pictures also on our facebook page.

On 2nd July Y5&6 travelled on the train to London for the day, many first time events for lots of our children. First stop Buckingham Palace, wow! Then we walked to Trafalgar Square where we saw our art learning come to life in the National Gallery, followed by a trip down Whitehall taking in the sights, seeing horseguards, Downing Street, the Cenotaph and on to Westminster. Y6 went into parliament for a democracy workshop and they were incredibly lucky to actually see our current prime minister! A very unexpected surprise. They listened to his address in parliament supported by the team to remain totally silent throughout. Y5 had fun in the science museum being inspired by engineers and space scientists. We saw the sights on our Thames river cruise, which took us to  Tower Bridge where we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of walking above the road, many brave enough to go on the glass walkway, we even saw it open to let a tall ship through. What a day and what a team! So proud.
