For Science Week 2024, Class 2 were exploring what happens when we mix vinegar with bicarbonate of soda. We used red and yellow food colouring to dye our mixture to make it look like lava erupting from a volcano. We then put some bicarbonate of soda into a balloon, tied the balloon to the top of a bottle filled with vinegar and emptied the soda from the balloon into the bottle. The children were amazed at how the balloon started to inflate!
