We investigated where there were more plants growing – on the field in the open or under the shade of the trees. Each pair of children threw a hoop and made a tally chart of the flowers that were growing in each area. Then we used tree identification charts to name trees in our forest schools space. Children drew the leaves and then made bark rubbings.
