Month of the Military Child Today we celebrated the month of the military child in year 5. Children came to school wearing purple clothing or accessories to mark the day. In the afternoon some of year 5’s military children talked about the jobs their parents have in the military and they talked about their experiences of living in different places. Children then followed a drawing tutorial to draw a dandelion (which is the flower representing the month of the military child). The dandelion was chosen due to its connections with military children – they are both hardy and will bloom wherever the wind takes them. Children then decorated the page around their flowers with adjectives to describe military children.
